What is more important for a country like India...removal of infrastructure of terrorism from Pakistan or removal of infrastructure of corruption from the central and state Governments?

No government related transaction happens in India without bribes. When you buy property you pay about 2% of the value for the registration in government records. Any project of roads, irrigation, public works has 40%(yes 40%) of the value marked for collection as kickback bribes from the contractors. A constable to any state's police force is recruited only after paying a hefty bribe to the recruitment machinery. Officials and even minor government employees are transferred to "lucrative" (i.e bribe-potential) stations on highest bidder basis. Building plans for construction are approved by town planning only after the stipulated speed money is deposited. All payments for purchases by governments are accompanied by generous commissions as kickbacks.

This sophisticated infrastructure of corruption has been assiduously build over the 62 years since independence. It permeates every pore of the body politic. Calling India a banana republic would be disrespectful to the nutritious fruit which is well fortified with iron and vitamins.

Talking about "infrastructure of terrorism" in Pakistan is just deflecting from the main issue. It is like paying more attention to a sore bruise when the limbs are falling apart with leprosy.

Any comments on the economic growth implications for the country?
